The Orkney International Science Festival (OISF) is a diverse festival bringing together over 70 events across the Orkney Islands off the north coast of Scotland. Alongside a talks programme, family day and festival concert is a series of schools workshops hosted by schools across the archipelago.

In 2022 I visited the festival as an exhibitor taking part in the main talk programme and Family Day with the What Makes Viruses Tick? project. I then returned in 2025 as one of the two OISF Event Managers (other being Sam Langford). Our role was to coordinate the delivery of the talks programme across multiple venues over the 7 days of the festival, as well as the delivery of the Family Day.

A hand holding a pencil drawing a circular design with the text 'Dear World Project' around it.

Dear World Project paired artists and researchers to explore metal health research through a series of explorative workshops. The artworks developed from these collaborations were featured in a two week exhibition at Stour Space in East London.

I delivered a two-week long programme of events to support the exhibition from art therapy sessions, to a mental health comedy night (including Fern Brady) and a mental health in professional sports night (including England Rugby Sevens captain Alex Davis).

I collaborated with Alice Haskell who led some Artistic Journalling workshops, and produced two huge murals responding to conversations throughout the 2 weeks.

Blue rounded rectangle with yellow text that reads "Well-being Garden Weekend, National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Carmarthen, 2019".

A 3-day event wholly organised and run by me that showcased the benefits of being outside and connecting with nature. This weekend was split into 3 days, “Science of Well-being”, “Mental Well-being” and “Physical Well-being”. Within each day were a host of workshops, activities and talks guiding people through different ways of not only helping their well-being, but also helping the well-being of the environments in which they live and work.
